Woman dies after crash at gas station in Indiana County

Indiana County, Pa. – One woman died after a fire at a gas station in the small town of Home, Indiana County authorities confirmed Thursday afternoon.

The woman inside the structure was identified as Melissa Myers, age 52 and was an employee. State Police in Indiana County were investigating the crash and fire after a vehicle crashed into the gas pumps at Pikel’s Gas Station at the corner of SR 85 and Route 119 about 1:00 pm.

Police said one person was taken into custody at the scene and another individual was taken into custody a short time later. No details were made available about the crash incident.

State Police reconstruction troopers were on scene working in heavy rains to document the incident. Trooper Clifford A. Greenfield confirmed to AKVNEWS.COM on scene one person died after the crash occurred.

SR 85 and SR 199 North was closed while for more than 6 hours.
