A Washington man wanted in connection with the disappearance of 82-year-old Marcia Norman of Washington was apprehended after a SWAT team was deployed in Missoula early Tuesday morning.
Jeffrey Kian Zizz, 47, appeared before Missoula County Justice Court on Tuesday afternoon.
Zizz violated his parole requirements by escaping the state of Washington.
The state of Washington has requested that he remain free on bond.
Zizz waived his right to extradition; thus, he will be taken back to the state of Washington.
According to Missoula Police, after intelligence from the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office in Washington indicated Zizz’s likely presence in Missoula, MPD SWAT and Patrol units responded.
Early on Tuesday, Zizz used flash sound diversionary devices, leading to his arrest.
According to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, Norman’s family filed a missing person complaint with deputies on April 4. Her family stated that they had not heard from her since April 1.
Deputies arrived at Norman’s residence and discovered strange circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
The investigation revealed that Norman had dinner with her handyman, Zizz, on the evening of April 1.
Zizz is considered the last person to have seen Norman.
On April 6, Zizz fled the region in a friend’s truck and was apprehended in Missoula.
Zizz is now regarded as a person of interest in Norman’s disappearance.
