Vandergrift woman injured in crash with school bus

Allegheny Township, Pa. – A Vandergrift woman is injured and transported by ground to a Pittsburgh hospital after a 2-vehicle crash on Hyde Park Road about 3:30 pm Wednesday afternoon.

Allegheny Township Police Chief Duane Fisher Fisher said police responded to the 2-vehicle crash after a small pickup crossed the centerline of the roadway and crashed into the side of an unloaded school bus. The driver of the bus was not injured. The 42 year-old woman driving the pickup truck was entrapped in the vehicle for some time and was eventually extricated by firefighters.

Hyde Park Road in front of the Auto Zone Parts was closed to through traffic for more than an hour and a half while police processed the crash scene and fire crews cleared part debris from the roadway. Kochka and Son Towing of Vandergrift removed the vehicles from the roadway.
