Student arrested in South Butler School District after “serious threat”

From the South Butler County School District: The Penn Township Police Department reported to the District a serious threat to student safety. A student has been arrested in this case and is in police custody. Jason Bowen, 18, was taken into custody. He is charged with making terroristic threats.

No credible threat to the District or its students remains. As a precautionary measure, we are on a modified lockdown, and we are asking that non-essential visitors not report to the District today. No visitors will be permitted to enter the school buildings. The District will be operating with tightened security for the foreseeable future. The District will provide more information as it becomes available.
