Alle-Kiski Valley, Pa. – Cpl. Christopher Robbins of the Pennsylvania State Police in Kittanning has released DUI checkpoint information for the weekend of March 16-18 to be held in various locations in Allegheny, Armstrong and Butler County served by Troop D Kittanning Station.
Cpl. Robbins said Troop D Kittanning will be conducting roving and stationary DUI patrols for the above listed locations. Motorists are advised to be aware of their surroundings and to have their license, registrations and insurance cards readily available. Motorists are also encouraged to drive sober and or get a designated driver, along with using their seat belts.
Motorists are also reminded of the steer clear law. Section 3327 of the Vehicle code states motorists MUST move over to the lane furthest away from stopped emergency vehicles AND/OR SLOW DOWN if it is not possible to move over.
Fines range from $85-250 plus costs and license suspension.
