Pittsburgh man killed near Valley High School after hitting deer on Sunday night

New Kensington, Pa. – New Kensington Police Chief Robert Deringer released the following information on Sunday night’s fatal motorcycle crash near Valley High School.

Chief Derringer said at approximately 2109 hrs, a 49-year-old male from Pittsburgh and his 38-year-old female passenger from Arnold were traveling eastbound on State Route 366 on a 2001 Yamaha motorcycle when, near Oates Boulevard, they struck a deer.

The 49-year-old male operator was transported by ambulance to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights where he died from his injuries. The female passenger was transported by ambulance to Forbes Hospital in Monroeville where she was treated and released.

The accident is still under investigation.

Their names have not been released.
