Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s assistance with homicide investigation

On January 26, 2019, at about 12:13 a.m, Penn Hills Police were requested to respond to 4343 Verona Road for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, police discovered EMS treating a male who was suffering from gunshot wounds to the abdomen. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The Penn Hills Police requested the investigative assistance of the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit.

The victim was identified as 48-year-old Paul McMillan. The investigation revealed that McMillan had been in the Lounge on Verona bar and that he had gotten into a physical altercation with another male inside of the bar. The fight was quickly broken up and McMillan had left the bar. Persons in the bar reported that shortly after McMillan left, other people ran into the bar reporting that there were gunshots fired outside.

It was discovered that McMillan had gotten into his white Dodge Ram pickup truck and was driving through the parking lot of the bar, towards Verona Road. Several gunshots were then heard coming from the parking lot. Medics who were already at the bar for an unrelated incident ran to the area of the gunshots and discovered McMillan where they immediately began treating him for the gunshot wounds.

McMillan. Investigators also found that McMillan’s truck had various ballistic damage from numerous gun shots.
