No injures in Arnold duplex fire

Arnold, Pa. – Multiple fire crews responded about 6:40 am in Arnold after a duplex catches fire and is called in by Arnold garbage crews reporting heavy smoke to 911 in the 1500 block of Victoria Avenue.

Arnold Fire Chief Wally Gouza said upon entry through the front door of the duplex crews encountered heavy smoke with a small amount of fire in the living room of the 2-story split level residence.

Chief Gouza said there was smoke and water damage to the basement and the damage to the first-floor area was moderate. The upstairs level sustained only smoke damage and there was no extension of the fire into the second-floor area.

Crews gained a quick knockdown and had the fire under control in about 20 minutes. There were no human or pet injuries reported. The state police fire marshal is investigating.
