New Kensington Police arrest Verona man on drug charges

New Kensington, Pa. – Police in New Kensington arrested a Verona man after reports of a vehicle being driven erratically , speeding and driving on the wrong side of the road and into yards.

Police subsequently located the vehicle turning into the Valley Bar parking lot. Police were familiar with the operator of the vehicle identified as Brandon Sorg, age 23 of 1st Street in Verona. Police confirmed the vehicle was a rented vehicle but was not being driven by the person who actually rented the vehicle. Additional units arrived on scene.

Through further investigation, it was confirmed Sorg had a suspended driver’s license, DUI related. During an inventory search, an opened medical marijuana container was found in the front center console. Inside the container was 14 oxycodone pills, 8 of those were wrapped in a plastic baggie with a knotted end. Oxycodone is a schedule 2 narcotic.

Sorg was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and driving under suspension.
