New Kensington male alleged to be stopping trains on railroad property

East Deer Township, Pa. – Police in East Deer and Springdale Township responded to the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks near the New Kensington bridge after a New Kensington man allegedly was on the tracks causing problems for trains passing through the area.

According to 911 radio information, the man was possibly stopping trains somewhere near the Colfax Street track area and subsequently walked the tracks Northbound towards East Deer Township where he was apprehended/detained by police until Northfolk Southern police was notified.

After a short while, police released the individual after making contact with railroad police. According to police, the incident was turned over to the Norfolk Southern police and the individual would likely be charged with trespassing while on railroad property.
