Thunderstorms and possibly floods are forecast to hit areas of New Jersey and Pennsylvania tonight. The National Weather Service issued a weather alert for severe gusts and heavy rain starting after 9 p.m. tonight and extending until daylight on Friday, April 4.
Storms, including isolated thunderstorms, may produce severe wind gusts and heavy rainfall, perhaps causing flash floods in some locations. According to the National Weather Service, the storm will affect a vast part of the region, including Philadelphia, Trenton, Allentown, and Wilmington.
Heavy rainfall can produce localized floods, particularly in places with weak drainage systems. Prepared residents in flood-prone areas should steer clear of flooded roads.
The weather advisory will remain in effect for the impacted areas until Friday AM. Those in the storm’s path are advised to follow weather updates regularly and take appropriate precautions, as circumstances may change fast overnight.
