Allegheny Township, Pa. – There were no injuries to report after Allegheny Township Police and fire crews responded to SR 356 and Pleasant View Drive about 12:30 pm for two crashes just seconds apart at the same intersection.

Allegheny Township Police Chief Duane Fisher said the first crash occurred when a vehicle traveling Southbound on SR 356 was stopped and attempting to turn left onto Pleasant Hill Road when a second vehicle behind that driver came to a complete stop but a third vehicle rear-ended the second vehicle. Just moments later, an older Chevrolet pickup truck coming down the hill on SR 356 and traveling the same direction could not get stopped in time and swerved right to avoid hitting the 3rd vehicle when it struck a newer Chevrolet Silverado sitting at the stop sign on McCutcheon Short Cut Road.

Chief Fisher said the parties involved in both incidents were evaluated by EMS and there were no transports. Chief Fisher also explained that because the first crash was complete and the two vehicles involved in the rear-end incident came to a complete rest, the incident involving the two Silverado trucks would be treated as a second-separate crash.
