A Worcester County Grand Jury indicted Eric Stone, 39, of Leominster, last week on counts of involuntary manslaughter, distribution of a class A narcotic (fentanyl), and distribution of cocaine.

On June 20, 2024, State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office responded to the unattended death of a 45-year-old male at a residence in Fitchburg. Detectives concluded that Stone provided the victim with cocaine and fentanyl in the early hours of June 20, soon before he died.
According to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, the deceased and Stone worked together at the 873 Cafe in Ashby and exchanged text messages about a narcotics trade.
The indictment directs the case to Worcester Superior Court, with Stone’s arraignment scheduled for April 7.
