An Ohio man has been arrested and charged with the murder of his 13-year-old child, Keymani. The victim’s lifeless body was discovered in an abandoned structure, triggering an immediate and thorough investigation by Ohio officials. Earlier this month, authorities reported this victim missing. Her father, later identified as 33-year-old DarneII, first alerted officials that she had left their home, citing fear for her safety while alone. However, contradictions in the defendant’s testimony prompted detectives to focus on him as a person of interest.
The authorities issued an arrest warrant for the man’s abduction on March 23. The next day, March 24, the victim’s body was located in a decaying structure. The Coroner’s Office confirmed that the cause of death was numerous severe incisions to her neck, and the manner of death was homicide.

On March 25, police SWAT officers detained the defendant following a violent altercation. He allegedly fired at officers from inside his hoodie, leading them to return fire, leaving the man critically injured. He was taken to a local hospital and is expected to live.

According to the girlfriend, she later alerted law enforcement, who got a search warrant and seized the materials. She further stated that she had not seen the man since officials removed the items.
The child’s death has caused tremendous anguish among family members and community members alike. Around 100 people attended a vigil at the site of her death to honor her memory. According to one participant, “It’s a deep wound for the whole community.”

The defendant is now facing charges of murder, felonious assault, and kidnapping.
