Harrison Township, Pa. – Fire crews from several communities were dispatched to a loading dock fire at the old Save-A-Lot store in the Heights Plaza about 1:45 pm Sunday.

Township Police and staff from a nearby store utilized fire extinguishers until firefighters arrived on the scene to douse the flames that did not appear to encroach the interior of the commercial structure.

Utilities were on inside the building which houses the township’s Christmas decorations. None of the contents inside were damaged. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Allegheny County Fire Marshal.

Assisting Harrison Township Fire Companies were Eureka Fire-EMS, Lower Burrell RIT and Citizens Hose EMS.
