Jeannette man dies after shooting at football game Friday night

Jeannette, Pa. – Westmoreland County Coroner Ken Bacha released the following information after a man was shot and killed at a football game in Jeannette about 9:22 PM at McKee Stadium, 1004 Lowry Avenue in the City of Jeannette.

Coroner Bacha said the Decedent, Dameian L. Williams, a 48 y/o male from Gaskill Avenue in the City of Jeannette became engaged in a verbal altercation with another individual. A firearm was discharged striking the decedent. Williams was transported to Excela Westmoreland Emergency Department where he was pronounced dead by a hospital physician.

Deputy Coroner Sean Hribal and Deputy Coroner Doug Lewis investigated the incident. Coroner Bacha said an autopsy will be performed by Dr. Cyril H. Wecht and Pathology Associates on September 7, 2019, and the cause of death will be pending official autopsy results.

Jeannette Police and the Westmoreland County Detective Bureau are investigating and will release additional details at their discretion.

Note: This shooting incident occurred outside the entrance gate to a Friday night football game. Westmoreland County Detectives were called to the stadium to process the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
