New Kensington, Pa. – Westmoreland County Detectives were busy Wednesday interviewing two suspects, one of them a juvenile in connection with firing shots at police in New Kensington about 7:30 pm Tuesday night.
AKVNEWS has learned the two suspects fled to the town of Duquesne after the incident and were picked up Wednesday morning. Acting on a tip, police knocked on a door at a residence in Duquesne and arrested 21-year-old Tywon McClain and a 17-year-old juvenile. Two firearms were recovered from the residence after a search was conducted. Police say one of the firearms is the same caliber as the firearm used Tuesday night in New Kensington.
Both suspects are facing charges in connection with two separate armed robberies that occurred in December 2019 and January. Charges for allegedly firing at police are pending in the most recent incident.
