A heavy storm is forecast to spread throughout parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware starting late Sunday and lasting until Monday morning, with some locations receiving more than an inch of rain.
According to the National Weather Service Mount Holly, the region will receive scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms Saturday night and Sunday, with more widespread rain arriving Sunday night. Rainfall totals through Monday are projected to be between 0.25 and 0.75 inches, with some areas receiving more than one inch.
Temperatures will stay seasonably moderate until Sunday evening, with lows ranging from the low 40s in the north to near 60 in southern Delaware. The rain is expected to end by late Monday, but a sharp cold front will bring significantly cooler air. Tuesday’s highs will barely reach the 40s or low 50s, with gusty northwest winds of 25to35 mph.
A widespread freeze is possible on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, particularly in places that have already begun seasonal planting. Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor plants and stay weather-aware as conditions swiftly change.
Local disaster warnings and the National Weather Service are excellent sources for regional updates and preparedness ideas.
