Harrison Township fire companies respond to structure fire

Harrison Township, Pa. – All 3 fire companies in Harrison Township responded to a fire in an unoccupied structure located in Pitt Alley that runs parallel to Carlisle and Cambridge Street about 9:20 pm Monday night.

Harrison Township Police on scene said the fire appears to have been started on the outside of the building but were unable to determine how the fire got started. Crews were able to immediately get a quick knock-down on the fire that appeared to have mostly damaged a roof section closest to the alley. Firefighters entered the structure to break out windows and vent the block building.

No injuries were reported. The caller to 911 said it smelled like rubbish or rubber burning, but couldn’t see anyone around.
