Frazer Township-East Deer Police apprehend assault suspect on hillside near the Mills Mall

Frazer Township, Pa. – Police in Frazer Township, along with the assistance of East Deer Township Pd responded to the Sam’s Club Fuel Center just before 4:00 pm Friday afternoon after an Arizona male suspect allegedly hit a woman in the face.

Frazer Police told AKVNEWS.COM the suspect jumped the guiderail across from the fuel center and fled down the steep hillside towards the Allegheny Valley Expressway to avoid capture. Police said the the suspect kept trying to roll down the hillside as police were trying to apprehend the suspect and put him in handcuffs. The suspect was finally apprehended about 100 yards above the expressway and was put in a transport device to lower him down from the steep hillside to the berm of the expressway on the Southbound side.

Frazer Law Enforcement Officer Rote and East Deer Law Enforcement Officer Frank sustained only minor scratches in the incident along with the suspect who was transported to Allegheny Valley Hospital for evaluation. The female victim who was hit in the face was not transported to the hospital.

Frazer Police Sgt. Aaron Scott said the suspect has an arrest warrant out of Arizona. His name was not immediately available at the time of this story. The suspect was released from the hospital and transported to the Allegheny County Jail at 7:05 pm.

A list of charges will be published at a later time. Sgt. Scott praised Eureka Rescue for the excellent work and assistance during the incident. Also assisting was Eureka EMS and Frazer Township Fire Department.
