Foot pursuit in East Deer Township results in one arrest

East Deer Township, Pa. – Police in East Deer Township, along with help from multiple surrounding communities responded to an area near Marion Street for 2, possibly 3 males attempting to get into vehicles/prowling at night just before midnight Thursday.

According to radio traffic information, a police officer was possibly assaulted prior to the foot pursuit. Multiple units on foot along with a K-9 unit from Springdale Township searched the area near an automotive shop with negative results. A short time later, police were alerted to a male running Northbound on a sidewalk near First Street and Edna Alley. As police converged to the area of First Street, a male was seen ducking between two houses in an attempt to elude police. Within minutes, a male was in handcuffs and walked to an East Deer Township’s police unit.

Arrested in the incident was Zeya Icquise Dixon, age 21 of Tarentum. Dixon was charged with F2 AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 06/06/2019, M2 RESISTING ARREST, M3 DISORDERLY CONDUCT and M3 LOITERING AND PROWLING AT NIGHTTIME.

He was later transported to East Deer Township PD for processing and subsequently transported to the Allegheny County Jail. The whereabouts of the other male/s is unknown.
