Driver sustains head injury in Harrison Township crash

Harrison Township, Pa. – Citizens Hose Rescue along with EMS and Police responded to a head-on type crash in front of Allegheny Valley Hospital just before 3:00 pm Monday afternoon.

One female driver was reported to sustain a head injury after hitting her head on the windshield as she was attempting to turn into the hospital driveway and struck a 4 door tan sedan traveling South on Carlisle Street. There were 4 occupants in the tan vehicle, none hurt.

Crews on scene said they loaded the elderly female on a stretcher and wheeled her right to the hospital emergency room department.

Tow crews from Terry’s Towing of Brackenridge removed the vehicles from the roadway. Fire crews cleaned up car part debris and fluids from the street.

Assisting at the scene were AVH Security and Brackenridge Police. The street was closed off to thru traffic for about 45 minutes.
