Parks Township, Pa. – Firefighters in Parks Township responded to a large house fire in the 1100 block of Washington Street just after midnight Friday morning.

A working fire was quickly confirmed with the possibility of entrapment in the 3-story residence. Fire crews were faced with the possibility of a shortage of an adequate water supply with only 2 hydrants in the area. Water tankers were requested from surrounding communities in the event of a water shortage to battle the blaze. The fire worked its way into the walls of the structure and to the back upper attic area where flames were still visible more than an hour into the incident.

Heavy damage could be seen across the front of the structure and in a garage that housed a vehicle. According to the fire chief on the scene, a wood stove at the back of the structure could be responsible for the fire. There were no injuries reported.
