County Police Investigating Armed Robberies in Turtle Creek, Penn Hills

Turtle Creek, Allegheny County – This morning at approximately 3:14 a.m., March 11, 2019, the Turtle Creek Police were dispatched to the 7-11 convenience store on James Street in response to a 9-1-1 call about an armed robbery.

They determined that two people entered the store and one pointed two handguns at the clerk. The clerk surrendered approximately $600. Detectives from the Allegheny County Police responded to the scene. The initial investigation revealed that one black male entered the store with a hooded jacket pulled up followed shortly by a second black male wearing a black jacket with the hood up and a black mask covering the lower portion of his face. The second male pointed two handguns at the clerk and demanded money.

At approximately 4:41 a.m., two males with the same description entered the BP gas station at 8936 Frankstown Road in Penn Hills and robbed that store. Still images from the surveillance video at the Turtle Creek store were obtained. The gunman was wearing two different color shoes, one gold and one black. The same description was provided in the Penn Hills robbery. No warrants have been issued at this point.
