(New Update) Police looking for blue pickup in Brackenridge shooting

Brackenridge, Pa. – Police in Brackenridge along with Allegheny County Detectives are investigating a shooting incident in the 1000 block of 3rd Avenue just after 5:00 pm Saturday evening.

Brackenridge Police Sgt. Mike Duffy said the incident occurred near Rear 1108 Brackenridge Avenue when a male identified as Robert Burke was shot in the right leg. Burke was transported to Allegheny General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

(Updated Information) – On September 7, 2019, at 5:13 PM, County 9-1-1 received a call for a single gunshot and male screaming in the 1000 block of 3rd Avenue in Brackenridge. When police and
paramedics arrived, they discovered the victim, a 29-year-old male, with a single gunshot wound to the leg.

Detectives spoke to the victim who stated he was shot by an individual driving by in a blue pick-up truck. Detectives are attempting to verify the victim’s account of what occurred. Currently, there are no suspects and a motive for the shooting is unclear.
