Authorities confirm Nalani Johnson found dead in Blairsville park

Blairsville, Pa. – Authorities have confirmed a Penn Hill toddler missing since this past weekend has been found dead at Pine Ridge Park in Indiana County Tuesday afternoon.

Police taped off an area inside the park on Tuesday afternoon with authorities holding a press conference confirming the child’s death. Indiana County District Attorney Patrick Dougherty said an autopsy will be performed Wednesday, but was unable to say what the cause and manner of death in the child’s death.

Allegheny County Police said the father of the child and the woman charged with kidnapping were in the beginning stages a romantic relationship when for an unknown reason, Sharena Nancy drove off with the child towards Murrysville, then New Alexandria towards Blairsville. Subsequently, Nancy was stopped along Rodi Road in Penn Hills about 7:30 pm on Saturday, but no child or child seat was found inside the 2017 black Toyota Yaris.
