Arnold woman charged with strangulation of child

Arnold, Pa. – Police in Arnold charged an Arnold woman with one count of Felony 2 strangulation and one Felony 3 count of endangering the welfare of children after a witness reported an incident to police.

According to the police criminal complaint, the victim had various scratches upon the neck, a bloody lower lip, a swollen and bruised left eyebrow and a small hematoma with a scratch behind the right ear after having an incident with suspect.

Arnold Police arrested Elena Lovorn, age 27 and charged her with strangulation after several witnesses made statements attesting to “before and after” pictures of the victim. Police said the marks and scratches on the neck were consistent with strangulation.

It is alleged that Lovorn took the victim to the bathroom after a child incident with witnesses hearing screaming coming from the bathroom. A witness was unable to open the locked door. When the door was finally opened, the victim has a swollen black eye, a cut lip and scratches.

Lovorn was also charged with M2 Recklessly Endangering Another Person and M1 Simple Assault – Grading, Victim Under 12 – Defendant 18 or older. Lovorn faces a Preliminary Hearing on 01/24/2019 10:00 @ am before the Honorable Magisterial District Judge Frank J. Pallone Jr.

Unable to post bail, Lovorn currently resides in the Westmoreland County Jail.
