Arnold, Pa. – The cafeteria was buzzing with sheer excitement on Wednesday at the Roy A. Hunt Elementary School as students were served lunch by the Arnold Police Department; then later enjoyed the opportunity to interact with the police officers as they walked around greeting the students.

Arnold Police Chief Eric Doutt and his officers have been a steady force in school safety and community relations – and Wednesday’s event was no exception. This type of event gives young students the opportunity to spend time with the police by reinforcing good relationships, school safety and building trust with the police, said Chief Doutt.

Chief Doutt said more events are planned for the future.

Kayla Solomon, food service director for the Nutrition Group told AKVNEWS.COM her role in the event is to manage the staff and food production for special events. Solomon said she organizes the events and makes all the menus ensuring good nutrition for the students.

It was a fun day for all the students, many of them wanting their pictures taken by local media. More photos can be viewed at AKVNEWS Facebook
