Witnesses near the scene said the suspect vehicle blew through the stop sign at North & Leishman Avenue striking a blue eastbound Hyundai Elantra occupied by 3 people. The Elantra was t-boned, crushing the drivers side door which required rescue workers to cut the door away for extrication of the driver.

After the Ford SUV struck the Elantra, the operator then struck a white 4 door sedan parked on the street, forcing that vehicle to turn 90 degrees into a Comcast work vehicle. The Ford SUV continued on the eastbound sidewalk and came to a stop behind the Comcast truck where the driver fled on foot.

It’s unknown if more than one person was in the pursuit vehicle, however one suspect was apprehended by police on Constitution Boulevard. Witnesses at the scene said it sound like a shotgun going off when the crash occurred. Everyone came out to see what had happened. Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
