Arnold man faces multiple felony drug charges

Arnold, Pa. – An Arnold man is facing multiple felony drug charges along with a felony assault charge on a police officer after allegedly shoving the police officer off a set of steps.

Arrested in the incident was Elbert Thompson, age 30 of Leishman Avenue. Thompson was found to be in possession of 6 bricks of heroin located in a kitchen drawer, baggie of cocaine, 2 digital scales, a loaded Glock 23 pistol located in a child’s bedroom closet along with numerous other items of drug paraphernalia.

Thompson was also found to be in possession of more than $2500 in cash. Thompson’s criminal history shows a felony conviction in 2011 for armed robbery making Thompson a person not to possess a firearm.

Thompson is being held in the Westmoreland County Jail and is awaiting a preliminary hearing before the Honorable District Magistrate Frank Pallone Jr.
