Allegheny County Police seize 550 individual stamp bags of heroin/fentanyl

Allegheny County, Pa. – During the early morning hours of Friday, February 14, 2020, Allegheny County Police Narcotics detectives executed a search warrant at 4713 Monongahela Street, a residence located within the Hazelwood Section of Pittsburgh. The warrant was obtained as the result of an investigation focused on heroin trafficking within Allegheny County.

The following items of evidence were seized during a search of the residence: 550 individual stamp bags of heroin/fentanyl; a stolen 9mm handgun, which was located underneath the bed pillow of the adult male suspect; a small quantity of marijuana; and $7,221 in cash. The retail street value of the heroin/fentanyl is $3,300.

One adult male, identified as Derrick Phillips, was arrested on scene. Phillips was charged with felony possession with intent to deliver heroin/fentanyl, receiving stolen property, person not to possess a firearm, and possession. Phillips had two prior felony drug arrests and convictions and is a person who cannot possess a firearm under Pennsylvania Statute. Phillips was lodged in the Allegheny County Jail to await a preliminary arraignment.
