Allegheny County Police Make Arrest for Indecent Assault

Allegheny County – On March 12, 2020 Monroeville Police had a walk-in complaint of indecent assault of a juvenile. The Monroeville Police subsequently requested the assistance of the Allegheny County Police.

Detectives from the General Investigations Section were assigned the case. Through the course of their investigation, it was discovered that the suspect, 23-year-old Gregory Lauffer, was attending an event at the Monroeville Fire Training Academy on March 8, 2020. Lauffer is a volunteer firefighter and dispatcher for the Borough of Monroeville. During the event, it is alleged that Lauffer sent inappropriate texts, made inappropriate sexual comments and indecently assaulted the 14-year-old female victim.

As a result of the investigation, Lauffer was charged with, and arrested for, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Corruption of a Minor and Indecent Assault. He turned himself into County Police on April 1, 2020. He was arraigned and released on a non-monetary bond.
