A Maryland man has been arrested for reportedly stabbing a dog outside his home after an incident with a roommate, according to authorities.

On Tuesday, authorities arrested 48-year-old Corey Allen Barbour McDowney outside his residence on the 21000 block of Exquisite Court in Lexington Park.
A second resident told investigators that McDowney got the dog from a cage in his bedroom and stabbed it at least seven times following a verbal confrontation.
Injured dog found bleeding on porch
Officers came and discovered the injured dog bleeding on the front porch.
McDowney is facing several accusations, including severe cruelty to an animal and unlawfully causing undue hardship or distress to an animal. He was sent to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown, where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
