Prosecutors have charged a man with beating a man twice his age with a wrench and a revolver during an armed robbery before unintentionally leaving his wallet at the crime scene.
The robbery took place at 8:20 a.m. on February 10 in the 600 block of North Laramie, but Chicago police only recently arrested Andre Moses, 36, on charges in the case.

According to prosecutors, the 67-year-old victim was outside his home when Moses struck him in the head with a huge crescent wrench before chasing him around a parked car and across the street for several minutes.
Moses eventually pulled the victim to the ground before pistol-whipping him twice on the right side of his head, according to a detention petition. According to a Chicago police report, Moses stole the man’s keys and phone before driving away in his car.
But he also left his wallet behind, and the victim confirmed that the individual depicted on a driver’s license in the wallet was the same one who mugged him, according to officials.
Last week, investigators set up surveillance on Moses’ home and arrested him on counts of armed robbery and robbery of a person over the age of 60, according to the article.
Judge Luciano Panici, Jr. granted the state’s custody plea, describing the attack as “vicious.”
