2 Freeport men killed in South Buffalo car crash

South Buffalo Township, Pa. – (Story Update 3:32 AM) – Armstrong County Coroner Brian Myers has released his report after a double fatal crash occurred in the 500 block of Freeport Road in South Buffalo Township Sunday night.

Coroner Myers said Daniel Lee Fullerton, Jr, 49, of Freeport and Gregory Sabattini, 57 also of Freeport were fatally injured while traveling south on Freeport Rd. in South Buffalo Twp., Armstrong Co.

Daniel Fullerton, Jr., of Freeport, Armstrong Co. was traveling southbound in a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer (Vehicle 1) he was driving left the roadway on the right side trying to negotiate a left hand curve. When the vehicle came back on the roadway, the vehicle went sideways striking a 2015 Honda Pilot (Vehicle 2) heading northbound driven by John Clark of South Dakota. Vehicle 1 then overturned landing on its roof 35 feet from the middle of the roadway. The driver Daniel Fullerton, Jr and his passenger, Gregory Sabattini, 57, also of Freeport were both killed in the crash. Both subjects were pronounced dead at the scene by Armstrong Co. Coroner Brian K. Myers. Neither was wearing a seatbelt. The causes of death are both multiple blunt force trauma -manner of death will be ruled accidental. Toxicology is pending.

The Coroner’s office was assisted at the scene by South Buffalo VFD, Freeport VFD, Harrison Hills VFD, Freeport Ambulance, and PSP – Kittanning. Funeral arrangements are incomplete

Police and fire crews are on scene of a 2-vehicle crash along SR 128 near the South Buffalo Elementary School just before 10:00 pm Sunday night.

Sources reported at least one person was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. SR 128 is closed off at Ford City Road to the South and Striker Road to the North. The Armstrong County Coroner is on scene.
