Vehicle shot-up multiple times in New Kensington ends up in Tarentum; several injured

New Kensington-Tarentum, Pa. – Police in New Kensington were on scene at the Fueland along 7th Street in New Kensington just after 11:00 am investigating a shooting that appears to have left at least 2, possible 3 individuals with gunshot wounds.

Multiple police units converged on the Fueland as 2 EMS trucks were turning left onto Stephenson Boulevard headed to Valley High School for a landing zone. Estimated time for a medical helicopter was 14 minutes. It appeared the medical helicopter was cancelled, reason unknown. After a short period of time, both EMS trucks left the Valley School driveway, one headed east and the other headed west upon their exit from the school.

During this time, a Black Chevy Tahoe was disabled on Corbett Street and 4th Avenue in Tarentum after hitting the railroad tracks hard enough to cause the left front tire to flatten. That vehicle had at least 9 bullet holes in the body and 2 in the windshield.

A county detective arrived on scene to take pictures and document the scene. Hawk Towing of Arnold was summoned to the scene in Tarentum to tow the vehicle.

Sources at the scene said one victim had sustained an upper arm shoulder injury and the other occupants injuries were unknown. It’s unclear if there was a third victim or what the status of that person was at the time New Kensington EMS left Valley High School headed west on SR 366.

While AKVNEWS was on scene in Tarentum, New Kensington Police were investigating a connected incident at Freeport Road and McCargo. It appeared shell casings were located near the intersection on McCargo.
