Troop D Kittanning conducting DUI checkpoints in Armstrong and Allegheny County

Kittanning, Pa. – Cpl. Christopher Robbins of the Pennsylvania State Police advises motorists that Troop D in Kittanning will be conducting roving and stationary DUI patrols for Memorial Day holiday weekend throughout Armstrong and Northern Allegheny Counties.

Motorists are advised to be aware of their surroundings and to have their license, registration and insurance cards readily available. Motorists are encouraged to drive sober and/or get a designated driver along with using their seatbelts.

Motorists are also reminded of the Steer Clear Law, Section 3327 of the vehicle code which states motorists MUST move over in the lane farthest away from stopped emergency vehicles and/or slow down if it is not possible to move over.

Fines range from $85 – $250 plus costs and license suspension.
