Tarentum Police foot chase two suspicious males Sunday night

Tarentum, Pa. – Police in Tarentum along with several other police departments searched an area near Walters Way in West Tarentum Sunday night after a red vehicle two males were riding in made a wrong way turn on a one way street.

A resident of West Tarentum who saw the incident begin said police were traveling on Center street and passed the vehicle that had turned left onto West 9th Avenue (the wrong way) and bailed from the vehicle. The witness said the two individuals began running in opposite directions, one towards Walters Way and the other ran towards Sefts Avenue.

Tarentum Police, along with Brackenridge, East Deer, Harrison and Springdale Township searched multiple streets eventually locating one male in the Walters Way area. That male was brought back to Center Street where he was detained by police and eventually medically evaluated by Tarentum EMS. The other male was not located, but one resident said she thought the male was hiding under a porch nearby. Later on, Tarentum Police were notified by a caller of a male supposedly hiding under a porch in the area.

It was not immediately known if the male transported to Allegheny Valley Hospital would be facing charges. No update on the second male’s whereabouts was known.
