Tarentum man hurt while putting air in tire in East Deer Township

East Deer Township, Pa. – A Tarentum man is transported to Allegheny General Hospital with a leg injury after being struck by a Butler woman at the Sheet’s Gas Station about just after noon on Wednesday.

East Deer Police Chief John Manchini said the man was putting air in his tire when he was struck by the woman who was backing out of a parking space a space away from the air filling station. Chief Manchini said he looked at video from Sheets but couldn’t see the incident for other vehicles ins the way. It’s believed the man was bent down airing his tire when the right front of a Subaru struck him.

The extent of the man’s injuries is unknown. Eureka EMS transported the man to a Pittsburgh hospital.

Assisting East Deer PD was East Deer VFD. No other injuries were reported.
