State Police to file multiple charges in vehicle vs. train crash in Oklahoma Borough

Oklahoma Borough, Pa. – Pennsylvania State Police Tpr. John Corna said multiple traffic violations will be filed in Saturdays car vs. train crash that occurred on the train tracks in Oklahoma Borough leaving 2 operators and an infant child injured.

Tpr. Corna said operator Amber Lee Brown of Vandergrift crossed over the intersection of Orr Avenue and SR 66 failing to yield the right of way to driver Rebecca Lea Jones of Saltsburg, Pa. Jones’ vehicle struck the driver’s side of Brown’s vehicle. Both units became disabled on the railroad tracks in the middle of the intersection.

A Norfolk Southern train approached the intersection when several witnesses were able to push Jones’ vehicle off the railroad tracks. Brown was able to free her infant child from the rear of the vehicle within seconds of the train impacting her vehicle. The infant and Brown sustained moderate injuries. Jones also sustained a moderate injury.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene that was assisted by Oklahoma VFD and Apollo VFD. Kochka & Son Towing of Vandergrift removed both vehicle from the intersection.
