State Police investigating Lower Burrell house fire

Lower Burrell, Pa. – Multiple fire crews assisted Lower Burrell VFD in a fully involved house fire Monday night just after 8:00 pm in the 3600 block of Youngwood Road.

Several sources at the scene said they could see heavy smoke and massive flames as they were traveling Westbound on SR 56 towards the fire scene as they were passing Melwood Road.

At the scene: Crews made a swift interior attack to the second floor of the structure and battled heavy flames on the lower right side of the structure where a garage door is located. Some firefighters making the initial attack were visibly tired and sweating from the intense flames as backup crews continued the attack to extinguish any fire extensions.

Sources reported the no humans were in the house at the time the fire broke out. A fire Marshall was called to the scene to investigate. Youngwood Road will remained closed for at least another hour while firefighters insure no further issues with the structure. Power was cut to the residence.

Assisting Lower Burrell – Tarentum FD, Markle FD, Arnold and New Kensington FD. No injuries were reported.
