Springdale Borough Police Chief Derek Dayoub said a man working next door to the suspected break-in saw a man with a screwdriver jimmy the front door and enter the residence. Police responded to the scene and attempted to coax the man from the house. Additional police units were called for back-up as police issued verbal commands for the man to come outside.
Chief Dayoub said police announced one last time to come out or the front door of the residence would be breached. The man inside relinquished and told police the reason he didn’t answer the door was because he didn’t like the police.
No injuries were reported.
