Rain – Cooler temps bring heat relief to the Alle-Kiski Valley

Alle-Kiski Valley, Pa. – Many residents in the Valley have welcomed Monday’s rain after several days of sweltering heat and humidity pushing temperatures into the low 90’s.

For the past several days, medical crews have been dispatched to a large number of “difficulty breathing” and possible heat stroke calls most due to the extreme heat.

Today’s forecast calls for showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1:00 pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3:00pm. High near 74. Southwest wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

For Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1am, then a slight chance of showers between 1am and 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. Southwest wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday: A slight chance of showers between noon and 1pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 78. West wind 8 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
