Preliminary Hearing continued for alleged shooter of New Kensington Officer

New Kensington, Pa. – Charged with homicide in the shooting death of New Kensington Police Officer Brian Shaw, court records reveal the preliminary hearing for Rahmael Sal Holt has been continued until December 13th @ 10:00 am before the Honorable Magisterial District Judge Frank J. Pallone Jr.

Holt, who’s last known address is Natrona Heights, was transported to the District Magistrate’s Office in New Kensington to face his preliminary arraignment before the Honorable Judge Frank J. Pallone Jr. on November 21st.

Holt stood before the judge and was given a copy of the criminal complaint facing charges of H1 Murder of A Law Enforcement Officer of the First Degree, H1 Murder Of The First Degree, F1 Possession Of Firearm Prohibited and F3 Firearms Not To Be Carried W/O License.

Holt told the court he would seek a private attorney to defend him on the homicide charges. Court documents indicate Holt has secured the services of Justin John-Earl Ketchel, Esq.

Holt is currently lodged in the Westmoreland County Prison.
