Arnold, Pa. – Residents experienced a brief power outage in the Kern Plan of Arnold and New Kensington and several streets intersecting Freeport Road Saturday morning after a previous day of safety trips causing intermittent power outages.

Westmoreland County 911 Dispatch said several customers called 911 after the traffic light at Drey Street and Freeport became inoperable. Arnold Police and fire crews from Station #2 provided traffic control while West Penn crews repaired the issue.

The outage began at approximately 11:30 and was restored about noon. Sources also reported electrical issues along Drey Street down to the police station. West Penn’s Power outage map indicated nearly 1500 customers were affected.
