Lower Burrell man dies after crash near Oregon Drive in Lower Burrell

Lower Burrell, Pa. – Update ( 10/9/2018 ) A Lower Burrell man died late Saturday night after a single-vehicle crash near SR 56 and Oregon Drive in Lower Burrell. The man was identified as Jeffrey West, age 54 of Lower Burrell. At the scene: the vehicle West was driving was traveling west on SR 56 and ran off the roadway at a 45 degree angle, traveled down a grassy area and struck a large Rite-Aid sign. There did not appear to be any braking marks on the highway or in the grassy area. According to Lower Burrell Police, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

At the time of the dispatch, a medical helicopter was requested but subsequently cancelled. West was transported by ground to a local hospital.
