Pa State Fire commissioner resigns post amid harassment allegations

Tim Solobay

Pennsylvania Fire Commissioner Tim Solobay resigned his position over the weekend after resurfacing allegations of sexual harassment in the workplace that stem from an incident 6 years ago when he was a state senator.

It’s alleged Solobay slapped a female aide worker on the backside in 2011. Solobay was a member of the state House of Representatives from 1999 to 2011 and was appointed fire commissioner by Governor Tom Wolf in 2015. He is also an assistant fire chief with the Canonsburg VFD.
