One person flown from crash scene in Allegheny Township

Allegheny Township, Pa. – Police and Fire crews responded to a t-bone style crash at Hyde Park Road and SR. 56 bypass Thursday afternoon forcing the closing of the roadway while a medical helicopter landed in the Westbound lane to transport one person possibly ejected in the crash.

Allegheny Township Police Sgt. Mark Junod said one driver of a black SUV was from the Hyde Park area, and the driver and occupant of the pickup truck was from the Greensburg Area.

Sgt. Junod said one person was flown and the other two occupants were not injured in the crash but one of those might possibly go by POV to the hospital. It’s unclear who was at fault in the crash said Sgt. Junod. Those details are still being worked out.

The incident occurred about 3:30 pm. Multiple crews cleared debris from the roadway and the field area near Apollo Trust. Kochka Towing of Vandergrift removed both vehicle from the crash scene.
