One dead after shooting in Springdale Township

Springdale Township, Pa. – Multiple police units converged to the 1200 Block of Butler Street about 10:00 am Sunday morning for a possible domestic and shooting with police locating a victim about 30 yards over a hillside on Butler Street.

The area in and around the incident location is being blocked off by police units and fire units on both ends of Butler Street (fire crews blocking at Henderson Drive) preventing through traffic on Butler Street.

Officials arrived on scene and found a 39-year old man near the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by police.

His identity has not yet been released.

At the scene: Crime scene tape was seen further up Butler Street from Henderson Drive with a police unit crossways in the roadway. Radio reports indicated one person was in custody.
