NKPD Officer Brian Shaw – Memorial plaque honors his character

New Kensington, Pa. – Cannonball Memorial Run members presented a memorial plaque to Lisa Shaw, mother of slain New Kensington police officer Brian Shaw Friday morning in council chambers at New Kensington City Hall.

Lieutenant Mike Baker of the Carrol County Department of Corrections, along with 3 other members of the team arrived in New Kensington to make the plaque presentation before heading off to Baltimore Maryland for a similar prenentation.

The Cannonball Memorial Run is a non-profit organization with a goal to provide immediate assistance and financial relief to the families of officers murdered in the line of duty. The plaque inscription was read by Lieutenant Baker that reads the following: In Honor and Dedication of the Life and Profession of Police Officer Brian David Shaw, New Kensington Police Department – EOW Friday November 17, 2017.

In attendance of the presentation was New Kensington Police Chief Bob Deringer, Lower Burrell Police Chief Tim Weitzel, Brian’s girlfriend Haylee Oliver, Patrol Officers from New Kensington and Lower Burrell and city employees.
